Privacy
We ask for photographs of your switchboard and your property, which identify your home. This page says exactly what happens to them: who sees them, how long we keep them, and how to have them deleted. We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are
EV Charger Co. is a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited, NZBN 9429050000017 collects and holds this information. Our address is Level 1, 12 Kōwhai Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021. Privacy requests go to hello@ev-charger.co.nz.
What we collect
- Quote details: your name, email, phone if you give it, the installation address if you give it, your region and suburb, your car, and your answers about the phase, the distance, the wall and whether you own or rent.
- Photographs you send us of your switchboard, the charger location, your parking spot and the route between them, and optionally your meter box.
- Payment records: what you paid and when. Card numbers are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach us.
- Technical information when you use the site: your IP address, browser, referring page, and approximate location derived from the network. This is recorded with form submissions to detect spam and understand where enquiries come from.
- Analytics: we use PostHog to count page views and see which pages lead to quotes. It does not identify you by name.
Your photographs, specifically
A photograph of your switchboard, taken inside your house, is more sensitive than a name and an email. We treat it that way.
- Where they live: photos arrive by email reply and are stored in our email system and against your quote record. They are never published, never posted publicly, and never used as an example on this site or anywhere else without your separate written permission.
- Who sees them: us, and the installer pricing or doing your job. Nobody else. We do not sell them, share them with marketers, or pass them to other installers unless you have ticked the referral box, in which case we tell you who first.
- How long we keep them: photos from a quote that does not go ahead are deleted 90 days after the quote. Photos from a completed job are deleted 12 months after the install, because the Certificate of Compliance is the record that matters after that.
- Deleting them sooner: ask us and we will delete them, normally within 5 working days. You do not have to give a reason.
What we use it for
- Pricing your job, and doing it if you go ahead
- Contacting you about your quote, your booking and your certificate
- Meeting our record-keeping and tax obligations
- Improving the site: which pages help people and which don't
We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it, and any we do send has an unsubscribe link that works.
Who else is involved
These providers handle some of your information on our behalf. Some of them store data outside New Zealand, which the Privacy Act allows where the information stays subject to comparable safeguards.
- Vercel hosts this website (United States and other regions)
- Notion stores enquiry records (United States)
- Stripe processes payments (United States, Australia and New Zealand). Stripe holds card data; we do not
- Resend sends our emails (United States)
- PostHog provides analytics (United States)
- The installer engaged to price or do your job, in New Zealand
How long we keep the rest
- Enquiries and quotes that go nowhere: 2 years, then deleted
- Completed jobs, including invoices and certificates: 7 years, as tax law requires
- Analytics: aggregated, and not linked to your name
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email us and we will respond within 20 working days, which is the statutory maximum, and usually much sooner.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries: one to keep your place in the quote form, and analytics cookies from PostHog. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party ad trackers. You can block cookies in your browser; the quote form still works, but it may forget your progress.
Security
Access to enquiry records and photographs is limited to the people who need it. Payments run through Stripe's hosted checkout, so card details never touch this site. No system is perfect: if there is a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the Act requires.
Changes
We will update this page if what we do changes, and the date at the top will change with it.
