1. Who you are dealing with

EV Charger Co. is a trading name of Kauri Ridge Holdings Limited, NZBN 9429050000017(“we”, “us”) sells home EV charger installations in New Zealand. We are the seller and the project manager, and your contract is with us.

We are not electricians and we hold no electrical registration. All prescribed electrical work is done by a registered, licensed electrician engaged by us as a subcontractor, who issues the Certificate of Compliance in their own name. We check each electrician's registration on the public Electrical Workers Registration Board register before engaging them.

Our address is Level 1, 12 Kōwhai Lane, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021.

Contact: hello@ev-charger.co.nz or 09 887 0150.

2. Quotes

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. A quote is prepared from the photographs and information you give us, checked with the installer who would do the work. A quote is valid for 30 days from the date on it unless it says otherwise.

A quote is only binding once you accept it and pay the deposit. If the information or photographs you gave us were materially wrong or incomplete, clause 6 applies.

3. What a standard install includes

Every quoted price includes:

The cable run length included in your price is stated on your individual quote.

4. Extras

Work outside clause 3 is an extra. Extras are only ever charged if they were named and priced on your quote, or agreed by you in writing afterwards. The usual ones are:

Work that requires your electricity distribution business (lines company) to change your supply is never included in a fixed price, because their fees and timeframes are set by them. We will tell you if we think your job needs it.

5. Deposit, payment and the balance

6. If the job differs from your photographs

If, on the day, the installation is materially different from what your photographs and answers showed, the electrician will stop. We will tell you what the difference is and what it costs, in writing, before any further work is done. You can then:

We will never charge you more than your accepted price without your written agreement.

7. Cancellation and refunds

8. Access, consents and your obligations

9. Warranties and guarantees

We do not exclude or limit liability for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Fair Trading Act 1986.

10. Certification

The registered electrician who does the work issues the Certificate of Compliance, and an Electrical Safety Certificate where one is required. We will send you a copy. Keep it: it is your record that the installation was done and tested by someone registered to do it. More about the certificate.

11. Referrals

If we cannot serve your job, we may offer to pass your details to another installer. We will only do that if you have opted in, we will tell you who they are first, and we may receive a fee. That is disclosed on how it works.

12. Your information

How we handle your details and your photographs, including how long we keep them, is set out in our privacy page.

13. Complaints and disputes

Tell us first, at hello@ev-charger.co.nz. We will acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 10. If we cannot, you can take a claim to the Disputes Tribunal. Complaints about the electrical work itself can also go to the Electrical Workers Registration Board, and complaints about misleading conduct to the Commerce Commission.

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The version that applies to your job is the one published when you accepted your quote, and we keep a copy.

15. Law

New Zealand law applies, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
